    3/29/2001 Leakey's 'Dream Team' dismantled
    Up Dr Richard Leakey's key Dream Team allies were dropped on March 28, 2001 in a major civil service shake-up, sending the Shilling sliding against the US Dollar. Out went Mr Titus Naikuni who had been on loan from Magadi Soda as PS for Information, Transport and Communications and Mr Martin Oduor-Otieno (Finance), who had been recruited from Barclays Bank of Kenya.

    3/20/2001 Two German Actresses Robbed in Kenya
    Up Kenya after intruders broke into their hotel room and robbed them, local media reported on Sunday. The actresses - Bettina Feldhoffer, 37 and Nechtchi Trossman, 52 - were in the country to film "Nowhere in Africa", based on the 1995 autobiography by Stefan Zweig about a Jewish family who fled Nazi Germany to Kenya.
